For as long as I can remember, I've been inspired by helping others uncover their purpose and realise how important it is to be fulfilled every single day.
Since I was a kid, I have been involved in elite and semi-professional sporting environments throughout Australia and Europe. After a childhood consumed by sport and performance, I found myself lost and faced with a critical decision – continue with this lifestyle or move away from everything I had known up until then. This was an incredibly challenging shift, both mentally and physically, and still to this day, it is one of the most impactful moments of my life.
Sport taught me many things: the importance of effective communication and working with a team, the ability to build resilience both personally and within a team environment in the face of defeat or failure, and the courage required to push through adversity, no matter the magnitude. It was also where I realised that my whole experience and journey thus far had reiterated the importance of having a "never give up" attitude.
At only 17, I had to make the decision to either pursue the life of a professional athlete, along with the associated pressures and uncertainty, or to shift focus on entrepreneurship and personal development, another major component of my childhood.
I was raised to understand the importance of personal, mental and inner development, and it's something that has shaped who I am today. One of my earliest memories is from when I was about 3 years old. My Mum, Dad, sister and I were getting ready to go out for the day. I remember being in the car and hearing the speaker blast the unmistakable voice of Tony Robbins. I was a very impressionable, open, child and I heard my Mum listen to Tony's speeches and recordings every single day. Looking back on my childhood, I feel extremely fortunate to have had a family who instilled the importance of personal development and helped me to understand the process of how to live a fulfilled and purposeful life.
My childhood was all about personal growth and love, and this gave me the foundations that would underpin my values throughout my teenage years. I faced the challenge of finding my own identity and standing firm on what I believed and valued. I rarely found myself mixing with the 'wrong' crowd, or having to act out in order to 'fit in'. I was mistakenly viewed as arrogant or ignorant, when really I was direct, honest, and up front with who I was. This was something that I realised not many young kids knew was acceptable, or even possible, and helped me through any adversity I had to face as a boy driven to never settle for anything less than fulfillment and happiness. To this day, this is something that is fundamental to my teachings, along with always honouring and staying true to yourself.
After I started to understand what really inspired me, I turned my focus to entrepreneurship. I shifted my mindset and put a lot of focus and dedication into starting 3 separate companies, all before my 30th birthday. Throughout my early adult years, I was pigeonholed by my appearance and athletic abilities, and I didn't want to be held back by those external opinions. I always wanted people to see me as more than that, as someone who was determined, fearless and extremely grateful for what has come before me, and what is still on its way.
With the turn of 2020, I have been able to focus all of my learning over the last seventeen years into my life's purpose, which is to assist others in achieving life mastery through personal power. I have been fortunate enough to work with a number of elite athletes in developing a mental road map, as well as strategies and tasks to keep them on track to achieve their fundamental goals within a high-performance sporting career.
I am eternally grateful for my foundations, and the opportunity to believe that there is nothing I cannot attain if I choose to, and I want to help millions around the world to realise the same is possible for them.
